Goofy's Showroom

Postby Goofy » 09 Aug 2016, 13:36

Here's a progress report of my simulator. I started out building the F-16D rear cockpit, but have added a lot of functionalities of the front seat as well, as to make the rear fully flyable. Yep, its not a true representation of the rear seat, but it is real fun to fly!!!....

Got my new PC fully up and running and what a difference it makes!!! 65FPS in the Ostsee theater, and all smooth, loving it. Also connected a 7th screen for a moving map display via YAME64, very handy. Will post some more pics today.

Wow that looks great, with that kind of big screen the sence of speed looks better compared to the sence of speed on a random monitor.
Always tought it was a bms problem but it seems the screen size is the key.

Thanks, it's a short-throw projector with a 100" screen. Flying on a big screen is a lot easier than a little monitor as you have a larger horizon as a reference line. Four-point rolls are nearly impossible to get perfect on a little screen, but with a big horizon in your peripheral view its quite easy. I have also enlarged the view-size in BMS to 109deg. in the aircraft config file.

I'm actually thinking of starting a full metal front section, need a new project...I have a second ejection seat, just need to fish it out of the mediteranean.!!!

I am so jealous right now. I've tried out something similar once in my life and it was beyond amazing. Your setup looks ten times better. Thanks for sharing the pics.
